| Hi All, The venue we are looking at is charging $45 per head for the alcohol package which for 80 guests is approx $3500, i was wondering if it would be cheaper to do a bar tab. If you had a bar tab how much did it come to? We are looking at beer wine and soft drink only. Thanks |

| The best way to do it is to work out how many people you think will be drinking beer and how many wine and how many soft drink. Then work out how many drinks each person will have, remembering it's free so they might drink more than usual. Women will usually have around 4-5 drinks average and men around 7-8. Kids may only average around 4. If it's less than the $3,500 quoted then go for a tab, otherwise it may be fair value, especially if you think there may be some big drinkers in your group. If you go the tab route, it's a good idea if the tab limit is $2,000, you get the bar staff to tell you when you reach $1,800 so you can decide if you want to put more money on the tab or not. Some venues may also allow you to bring your own wines... although it is a bit tougher if you are getting married in the vineyards. Cheers |
